MMA Hottie Gina Carano Gets Naked At Weigh-In
October 05, 2008 | Views: 11,567
This weekends EliteXC made for some interesting headlines. Not only did Kimbo Slice lose to a replacement fighter in 14 seconds but Gina Carano stripped in front of a crowd for weigh in.
When Carano stepped on the scale and it read 142.75 she was visibly embarassed to be above the 140 mark for the fight. Remember, this is not the first time she has not made weight. In May she couldn’t make weight and had to give a portion of her purse to her opponent Kaitlin Young.
So when you don’t make weight what do you do? You remove your clothes. Surrounded by 4 towels Gina stripped down and stepped back on the scale. Now, notice the strategic placement of the towels. Do you see the big gap right in a money shot position. Where was the photographer then? He was busy catching the towel slip pictures. Unfortunately Gina’s quick reflexes kicked in and she was able to cover herself up.
Carano was still at 142.5, but the officials suggested she try again since there had been problems with the scale. She stepped on a third time and was down to 141. They let that stand because that is what her opponent weighed in at.
Was there really a problem with the scale or did they adjust it for her because they had already lost their big name headline match? Makes you wonder huh? The scales at these competitions aren’t usually going to fluctuate 1.5 pounds just because the person steps off and back on. We’ll never know, but the satisfaction of know that Gina Carano is willing to strip in front of others leaves hope to see it again in the future.
Just for fun here are a few other pictures of Gina after the jump.
The Juice Gets Squeezed - OJ Is Guilty

Just a quick OJ Simpson trial status update. OJ Simpson was found guilty on all counts of kidnapping and armed robbery. His sentencing will take place on December 5. The ironic part is that it took place 13 years to the day after being acquited on murder charges.
It is likely he will spend the rest of his life in prison. He’s no young cat anymore at 61 years old. I do feel bad for his kids though. They have been through a lot in their lives but now maybe they will get some peace.
Anyways, I’m not sure what to make of this situation. OJ wanted his memorabilia back so he went to get it. Were bad decisions made, yes. But would any of us have done anything different if it was our belongings? Probably not. The only difference is he is a celebrity so it gets blown out of proportion and his past drama cast a cloud over him. It’s sad really.
Do The Denver Nuggets Have What It Takes?

A big question this year will be, can the Denver Nuggets step it up a level and compete in the NBA? With superstars Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson on the roster scoring shouldn’t be a problem. But defense is. The Nuggets gave up 107 points per game last year, second to last in the league. No amount of offense can overcome that bad of defense.
During the off season they traded Marcus Camby, who was the pinnacle of their defense, so who do they turn to now? Well it seems they are giving Ruben Patterson another chance. Patterson has been invited to training camp and is considered a “defensive specialist.” I guess Coach Karl is a forgiving guy, because Patterson was with the Nuggets during the ‘06 Playoffs when he was benched and yelled at the coach. Once he was traded no one thought they’d see him in Denver again. But when times get hard you gotta dig deep to find players.
Several other players have been invited to camp including former Nugget, Jawon Howard, Mateen Cleaves, Nick Fazekas, James Mays and Smush Parker.
Looks like something is in the water in Denver when it comes to defense because the Nuggets and the Broncos need some new life on that side. Let’s hope they both find it.
Dedication or Stupidity? Player Amputates Finger To Play

I’ve heard of dedicated athletes, guys willing to do whatever it takes to help their team win, but this is just stupid. Trevor Wilkre, senior offensive lineman for Mesa State College, had his pinkie amputated on Wednesday evening just to be able to finish the season.
Wilkre severely dislocated his finger in practice on Tuesday when it caught on another players jersey. He tried to convice the trainers to just put the bone back in, tape it up and let him continue but they shut him down and sent him to the hospital. Doctors told Trevor that they could save the finger with surgery and pins, but his season would be over. Wilkre decided to just cut it off instead, having his finger amputate that night.
Excuse me? You play Division 2 football at a no name school and you want to lose your finger for the rest of your life just to play your senior year? That has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard. If this guy was playing at USC or University of Alabama and had a chance at the NFL then, maybe, I could see the sacrifice, but to finish Div. 2 ball, I don’t think so.
According to The Daily Sentinel, Wilkre says, “This team means the world to me. … I would have no problem taking a bullet for any of these guys. I love ‘em that much. This is my bullet.”
Well sport, that bullet must have hit you in the head.

Seattle Gets Expansion Football Team- Awesome!
October 02, 2008 | Views: 2,303
While Seahawk fans are dismayed with the teams performance since their Super Bowl XL appearance, it’s no wonder Seattle residents approved the expansion of a new football team.
Northwest football fans will not be stuck to just one team any longer. The new team promises full-contact smash mouth football and should deliver something the Northwest has been aching for for years. Enter the Seattle Mist! Although official league play won’t start for another year, tryouts for the Seattle team are this Friday, October 3rd at Greenlake Field.
The Catch? The Seattle Mist will consist of women playing in Lingerie. That’s right, women playing tackle football in their underwear as part of the Lingerie Football League. Awesome!

Ocho Cinco Needs To Trash Talk
October 02, 2008 | Views: 2,043
This week is drama vs drama, T.O. vs Ocho Cinco. The Bengals are in the Big D and Ocho Cinco held a conference call with the media yesterday. Based on his answers it looks to me like #85 has grown up as much as can be expected and is holding his tongue well.
From the Star Telegram:
How hard is it for you to hold your tongue this season?
…But, to tell you the truth, holding my tongue has been super hard. But I can’t (talk) right now. From what I did in the offseason, I have no room to talk. I have no room to be a distraction. I have no room for any of that. So my whole focus now is to be as positive as possible and continue smiling and playing. I’m going to continue to play like we’re winning around here. I’m going to make sure that if we do turn it around, I’m part of the reason we turn it around.
Bye Bye WNBA, We Want Beach Volleyball

I don’t know about you but I would much rather watch me some half naked, hard bodied, beach going women slap a ball around in the sand than watch 10 awkward-unattractive women running up and down the hard wood.
Why does the WNBA still exist anyway? Do people still watch it? Did they ever? Regardless, the following images should be reason enough to boycott the WNBA and demand Women’s Beach Volleyball.
Another perk to WBVB, the occasional girl-on-girl action!

Athletes & Motorcycles - Is It Worth It?
October 02, 2008 | Views: 1,917
The Golden State Warriors have entered training camp without point guard Monta Ellis. Ellis signed a new 6 year $66 million deal in July, then proceeded to get injured in a low-speed moped accident in August. He is out for training camp and at least a few weeks of the regular season. You’ve got to be a total idiot to be getting paid that much money, have a specific clause in your contract that forbids riding motorcycles and mopeds, and then do it anyway putting everything at risk. Not only has he affected himself, but when a player is injured by stupidity he affects his entire team.
The Warriors are going to meet with Ellis’s reps next week to let them know what disciplanary actions will be taken. But…Ellis is not the first knucklehead millionaire athlete to be injured on a motorcycle (oh wait, he was only man enough for a moped). Think, Kellen Winslow Jr., Jay Williams and who could forget the biggest bonehead of all Ben Roethlisberger who was riding without a helmet. What are these guys thinking? Do they honestly believe they are Superman and the accidents can’t possibly happen to them? Well I can say from experience accidents on 2 wheels can happen to even the most experienced of riders.
Guys, don’t put your careers on the line for a bike. It’s just not worth it. Sports careers have a limited timeline as it is, you’ll have plenty of time later to enjoy that Hyabusa, Ducati or R1.
